Alberto Nieto

Alberto is completing a PhD programme at the Department of Security and Crime Science at University College London (UCL). His research focuses on the assessment of public policies designed to counteract organised crime in Latin America. Before starting this programme, he worked in the Public Policy Unit of the Attorney General’s Office in Colombia where he was in charge of multiple research projects to enhance the role of prosecutors within the criminal system. He is a Colombian trained lawyer (Los Andes University in Colombia), and holds a master’s degree in law from Stanford University.
