Alexander Sukharenko is a criminologist and an independent anti-corruption expert from the Far East of Russia. He is the Director of New Challenges & Threats Study Center, based in Vladivostok, Russia. Before that, he worked as a criminal investigator, lawyer and researcher. Alexander is also a columnist in Moscow“Nezavisimaya gazeta” (http://www.ng.ru/authors/50018/) and Vladivostok business weekly “Konkurent” (https://konkurent.ru/experts/4). He has published over 250 articles, policy memos and book chapters on organized and economic crime, illicit fishing, corruption, and terrorism. His latest releases are: Russian organized crime: Transnational aspects (Moscow, 2014), Anti-corruption in the countries of the Asia-Pacific region: Organizational and legal aspects (Moscow, 2017) and Anti-Corruption in China: Legislation and Enforcement (Moscow, 2018).
