Antonia Petalia currently works for the UK Home Office as Business Change and Engagement Lead in the Police National Database Programme, and also Training and Readiness Building Capability in Policing, and a Futures Member.
Antonia brings a diverse working background of 28+ years’ experience, undertaking high profile roles in Government, Executive Agencies, Private and Charities Sector. Within 5 years of service in the Ministry of Justice, HMPPS and Scottish Prison Service, Antonia’s work involved implementing the Ministers’ Safety Reform Programme, inspection, analysis and improvement in high risky areas, bringing compliance with Prison’s Rule and Statutory Requirements to working with Intelligence Units for Violence Reduction, Suicide and Prevention and Risk Assessments of offenders in rehabilitation plans.
Antonia’s work mainly includes analysis, synthesis, research, networking, consulting and driving policy based on evidence and trends imperatives that were force of change drivers.
In Antonia’s current role, as Business Change and Engagement Lead in the Police National Database, and System’s Training Lead, working with College of Policing but also SMEs across all threat desks, Antonia develops bespoke interventions, conducting thematic research to identify trends in policing and develop bespoke training and awareness solutions to enable the mitigation of risks and ultimately become more effective and efficient analysts.

- AI Deep fakes in operational policing, how it may evolve, signals and operational impact in policing.
- Poison and Explosives: Licence Holders Vetting Suitability Checks and advising on improving Policy and current process for continuous safeguarding and also on a project where we try to identify and intelligence gaps in loss and theft of Regulated and Reportable poisons and explosives that could be misused by Criminals.
- Antonia is also member in the Futures Policing Network, and futures toolkit trained.
- Working closely with NAC under the NCA and also HMICFRS on AI Horizon Scanning and Operational Risks.
