Cristina Sáenz Pérez

Cristina joined the Center for European Law and Internationalisation (Leicester Law School) as a Graduate Research Assistant in September 2016, having previously completed a Qualifying Law Degree and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Management at the University of Valencia (Spain) and an LL.M. in International Criminal Law at the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (Turin, Italy). She previously worked as a research associate at the department of criminal law of the University of Parma (Italy), where she coordinated the network of experts on extradition. She is also a member of the Spanish Bar Association since 2015.

Her research interest lies in the protection of defence rights and data protection within judicial cooperation in criminal matters. She is also a research assistant in the ESRC-funded project ‘Parties, Parliament and the Brexit Process’.
