Daniel Steggles is a former Police officer and Public Order / CBRN instructor who has also spent time working in local CID teams. During these roles, he was involved in numerous large scale public order events in London including the July 2007 terrorist bombings. After leaving the police force to study criminology, he began working as a civilian investigator on major serious crime teams including those established to deal with the Grenfell Tower fire of 2017 and the current investigation into the deaths of 39 Vietnamese nationals found in Essex in 2019.
Daniel holds particular interests in the right-wing movement throughout the U.K. and Europe and its links to football ‘risk supporters’. This topic forms the basis of his submitted PhD research proposal. In his spare time Dan likes to travel and tries to keep fit, however he always finds numerous other distractions to take care of before doing any physical activity.
