Alexandra Hall is a Senior Lecturer in Criminology at Northumbria University, Newcastle upon Tyne. She has research expertise in pharmaceutical crime, drug trafficking, counterfeit markets, technology-facilitated crime, and global supply chains. Previous research projects have focused on the methods and motivations of consumers and suppliers of counterfeit and falsified medicines online, techniques of financial management among cocaine traffickers and illicit tobacco traders, and UK-China flows in the counterfeit trade. She is currently undertaking an ethnographic study of the illicit market in injectable medicines and medical devices used in cosmetic procedures. Alex’s work has been published in the British Journal of Criminology, European Journal of Criminology, and Trends in Organised Crime. She is the co-author of Fake Meds Online and Fake Goods, Real Money.
