Katie Benson is Lecturer in Criminology at Lancaster University Law School.
Her research primarily focuses on the involvement of legitimate professionals in the facilitation of money laundering, and the criminal justice and regulatory responses to this. A research monograph on Lawyers and the Management of Criminal Proceeds will be published by Routledge in 2018. Katie is currently working on two projects on domestic and international bribery, and has previously been involved in research on the cross-border distribution of counterfeit alcohol.
Katie previously worked as Knowledge Manager for the Scottish Crime and Drug Enforcement Agency, and has worked with, or provided advisory/consultancy services to, various government bodies, law enforcement organisations, research institutions and investigations.
