Dr Michael Woodiwiss

Michael Woodiwiss is a Senior Lecturer at the University of the West of England. He has written, edited and co-authored many books and articles covering topics such as bootlegging, drug trafficking, criminal money management, official corruption and many types of corporate and financial crime. He co-edited Global Crime Connections with Frank Pearce in 1993 and is the author of Organized Crime and American Power (2001) and Gangster Capitalism (2005). His most recent publication is Double Crossed: The Failure of Organized Crime Control (2017). Currently he is working with a legal scholar, Mary Young, on a project that will identify and analyse the links between US and UK efforts to control organized crime and the effects of these efforts, particularly anti-drug trafficking efforts, nationally, regionally and globally.
