Alberto Testa is an applied sociologist of deviance & crime and Associate Professor in Criminology at the University of West London, UK. Dr. Testa has achieved Certified Sociological Practitioner Status (CSP) which is granted by the Association for Applied and Clinical Sociology (USA). Alberto has researched and published widely on football Ultras (Hooliganism), policing and the Far-right; Currently, he is engaged in two collaborative research projects namely Football, Corruption and the Mafia and ENABLE which aims to prevent and tackle football spectators’ violence (Hooliganism). He serves as Associate Editor for the Journal of Qualitative Criminal Justice & Criminology and He is a visiting senior research fellow at the SportcomLab of the University of Bologna, Italy.
Alberto is a regular contributor to national and international media; He has contributed to a wide range of media in countries such as the UK (BBC; LBC), USA (The Voice of America, CNN, ABC news), Canada (CBC ), Italy (RETEECONOMY), and Switerzland (RSI-RETE-UNO -Swiss Public Broadcasting Organization).
